Lord Snowdon's Photos of A. Christie (Auction: 21-June-2019).

On 21-June-2019, at Flint's Auction House, Reading, UK, Lot 59 is a collection of prints and slides by Lord Snowdon (husband of Princess Margaret & step-brother to HRH Queen Elizabeth II, and perhaps better known now due to his character in the TV show "The Crown").


Auction description: LORD SNOWDON (1930-2017) A 1973 Collection Relating to Agatha Christie, Four silver gelatin prints of Agatha Christie, three with Camera Press stamps and pasted descriptive labels to verso, three 25.4cm sq., one 30.2cm x 21.4cm, some edge creases, bumped corners, one 1cm tear, with ten colour transparencies, five 35mm, five 2 1/4" sq., each stamped 'Camera Press London, Photo Snowdon, Agatha Christie', a duplicated typed list of captions for the transparencies, with a Camera Press transcript of Lord Snowdon interviewing Agatha Christie in 1973, various press cuttings etc. Note: The prints are taken from four of the 1973 transparencies. The prints were also published in the book The Mysteries of Agatha Christie, Gwen Robyns 1978 .


Editors note: There is some conflict as the date of these photos as Lord Snowdon's audio-tape recording of the interview that occurred at the same time states 'June 1974'.
